One Drop
The children learn to recreate the sound of raindrops with their hands. And also, they imagine they are building a house using their arms. They place their hands on their head and then on their chest. This movement encourages a feeling of self- confidence and makes them feel loved and appreciated.
They sing together as they count: one drop, two, three, and four drops. By synchronizing the movements of their fingers with the sound of the drops, they experience different note values: half notes, quarter notes and eighth notes . They also tap several different rhythmic figures.
The repetitive nature of the song facilitates memorization of the song lyrics.
This activity helps the children to develop dexterity, rhythm, and hand-eye coordination.
