Week 4
Forest Dance
As in previous weeks, the children emulate the various movements of trees throughout the dance. For this week we add several variations:
To increase alertness, the children are asked to stand with their feet together and prononce a short I while lightly tapping their chest. We suggest they open their mouths wide to maximize the resonance of the voice and allow them to enjoy the vibration it is creating. In effect, this phoneme resonates at the crown chakra and is associated with enthusiasm, joy and self-affirmation.
At the end of this activity, the children feel calm and self-confident. The movements help them to channel their energy and promote a state of inner peace.
