Week 6
I Hope You're Well
The children learn the difference between loud and soft dynamics by experiencing them with their bodies. They must perform a different movement according to the intensity of the song. For example, to match a soft singing voice, they use their fingers to tap lightly: into their other hand when the lyrics are in French, on their head when the lyrics are in English, and on the floor when the song is sung in Spanish. Afterwards they use their hands to clap and tap more forcefully to match a loud singing voice.
In this activity, the children work on symmetric and rhythmic movements. They also experience different intensities and use crescendos to gradually transition from soft to loud.
